Beta-N-acetylhexosaminidase or Beta-hexosaminidase.or chitobiase (BNAHEX) is a glycoside hydrolase catalysing the cleavage of GlcNAc and GalNAc [1]. BNAHEX serves as a biosynthetic tool for the preparation of hexosaminides under mild conditions.
Disease
Elevated levels of BNAHEX were found in patients wit hay-Sachs disease[2].
