Cyclic di-GMP, (bis-(3'-5') cyclic diguanylic acid)
|
C-di-GMP is a second messenger that mediates the regulation of cell-surface associated traits in bacteria.
is a cyclic dinucleotide with a 12-membered macro-cycle composed of the the phosphate and ribose moieties. It tends to associate to form with intercalated, stacked bases.
Several protein structures involved in c-di-GMP signaling have been determined (reviewed in User:Tilman_Schirmer/Sandbox_200).
