[https://www.uniprot.org/uniprot/SPTN1_CHICK SPTN1_CHICK] Morphologically, spectrin-like proteins appear to be related to spectrin, showing a flexible rod-like structure. They can bind actin but seem to differ in their calmodulin-binding activity. In nonerythroid tissues, spectrins, in association with some other proteins, may play an important role in membrane organization.

Description: SH3 domain of chicken alpha spectrin solved by solid-state NMR Restraints were determined using the ""exact Solid-State Distances"" module newly implemented in the Bruker Dynamics Center. 15 time-shared 15N/13C-edited 3D H(N/C)h-RFDR-H spectra were used for determination of magnetisation transfer buildup rates D. The combined method for correction of spin diffusion and dipolar truncation was applied using the X-ray structure PDB 2NUZ as template for the correction method.
