Geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate synthase (GGPPS) catalyzes the synthesis of geranylgeranyl pyrophosphate (GGPP) from farnesyl diphosphate and isopentenyl diphosphate. GGPPS is involved in the addition of hydrophobic molecules to proteins and in the regulation of a nuclear hormone receptor.
