Helicase region probably exhibits NTPase and RNA unwinding activities (Potential). It also acts as a suppressor of RNA-mediated gene silencing, also known as post-transcriptional gene silencing (PTGS), a mechanism of plant viral defense that limits the accumulation of viral RNAs.
