Structure of AlyC3
AlyC3 is a novel PL7 alginate lyase from Psychromonas sp. C-3 in the arctic ocean. Its primary function is the breakdown of alginate, a polysaccharide found in the cell walls of brown algae. The WT AlyC3 (PDB ID 7c8g) has a Km value 0.24 ± 0.05 (mg/ml) and a Vmax value of 19,704.73 ± 1865.49 (units/mg).
