2,5-Bis-[4-(N-cyclobutyl-amidino)phenyl] furan and 2,5-bis-[4-(N-cyclohexyl-amidino)phenyl] furan have activity against Pneumocystis carinii and also show cytotoxicity against several tumour cell lines.
