Recombinase A (RecA) is a bacterial protein which functions in the repair of DNA. The human homolog of recombinase A is RAD51. The images at the left and at the right correspond to one representative RecA, i.e. the crystal structure of recombinase A from Mycobacterium smegmatis (2oe2). Phosphate ion is shown as a space filling object.
