Crystal structure of A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase 2ao7
A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase (ADAM) are peptidases which cleave off extracellular portions of transmembrane proteins. ADAM inhibitors are used in anti-cancer therapy. ADAM family members are numbered. ADAM10 cleaves ephrin. ADAM17 processes the tumor necrosis factor-α. ADAM33 is implicated in asthma. The images at the left and at the right correspond to one representative ADAM, i.e. the crystal structure of bovine A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase 10 (2ao7).
