Human AnkrD2 encodes a 37 kDa protein, found in slow muscle fibers. It is attributed as a link between the sarcomere and nucleus in skeletal muscle and is involved in striated muscle hypertrophy. AnkrD2 interacts with telethonin and the transcription factors YB-1, PML and p53 .
