Casein kinase (CK) is a protein kinase which function as regulators of signal transduction. CK1 is a serine/threonine kinase with several members: a, b1, g1, g2, g3, d and e. CK2 functions in cell cycle control, DNA repair and circadian rhythm regulation. CK2 is a tetramer with a pair of 2 subunits – the a subunit is the catalytic one and the b subunit is the regulatory one.
