SERC 2011: Project Proposal
Use computer programs (specific programs addressed later) to create a three-dimensional structure of stratifin
- Examine the known protein structure of stratifin, 14-3-3 sigma
- look at stratifin’s interactions with other proteins and DNA, as well as the sequence of the protein and the domains
- Examine how stratifin binds to translation factors and how it binds to mitosis G2 factors
Observations and data:
- Will be used, in addition to conclusions from various science articles, in an attempt to identify stratifin’s role in the body, as well as its role in certain types of cancers
