אינסולין

אינסולין הוא החלבון הראשון שסינטזו אותו במעבדה. בזמנו השתמשו באינסולין המיוצר על ידי לבלב של חזירים. היום משתמשים בבנדסה גנטית. לפלזמון של חידקים מכניסים את הגן האחראי על יצור האינסולין וכך בתא של החיידק מייוצר הורמון אינסולין.
