Function
Nitrile hydratase (NH) catalyze the hydration of nitriles to amides. NH contains Fe or Co in its active site. NH consists of two subunits: α and β and exists as dimer or tetramer with one metal ion bound per dimer.

Nitrile hydratase is used industrially in the production of acrylamide and nicotinamide.
