Beta-2-microglobulin

Beta-2 microglobulin is a structural protein sub-unit of the class I major histocompatibility complex. It has a molecular weight of approximately 12 kDa. In dialysis patients, it has the propensity to form amyloid fibrils in a condition known as dialysis-related amyloidosis (DRA). The mechanism of oligomerization and eventual fibrillation are of particular interest to the Vachet Research Group at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

This is a sample scene created with SAT to by Group, and another to make of the protein. You can make your own scenes on SAT starting from scratch or loading and editing one of these sample scenes.
