Introduction
"Mycobacterium tuberculosis" is a pathogenic bacterial species. It is the causative agent of tuberculosis. It has a waxy coating on the cell surface due to mycolic acids. In order to determine this species, the Zieh-Neelsen acid-fast stain is used to determine its acid fast identity. This species is highly aerobic and requires high levels of oxygen [1].
Disease
The primary disease that "M. tuberculosis" causes is tuberculosis (TB). It primarily attacks the mammalian respiratory system and infects the lungs.
