DNA Helicase
DNA Helicase is a complex, 14 chain structure that unwinds DNA in replication by cleaving the hydrogen bonds between the complementary nucleotides.
Function
By cleaving the hydrogen bonds between the complementary nucleotides, Helicase allows DNA polymerase to have access to each DNA strand in order to replicate each strand. There are several types of Helicases aside from DNA helicase.
