The subcellular localization of cAMP-dependent protein kinase (PKA) occurs through interaction with A-Kinase Anchoring Proteins (AKAPs). AKAPs bind to the PKA regulatory subunit dimer of both type Ialpha and type IIalpha (RIalpha and RIIalpha).
