What is Proteopedia?

Proteopedia is a free and collaborative, 3D encyclopedia of proteins, macromolecules, and small molecules and chemicals of interest with emphasis on three-dimensional structure where relevant to function.

Mission Statement

To collect and disseminate structural biological and biological knowledge about proteins, macromolecules, and small molecules and chemicals of interest in a manner that is relevant and accessible to scientists of all the biological and chemical fields.

Goals for Proteopedia

  • To maintain low barriers for contribution.
  • To continue to develop the concept of tying text to three-dimensional, interactive images.
  • To serve as a forum for scientists to share and discuss information related to proteins, macromolecules, and small molecules and chemicals of interest.
