We apologize for Proteopedia being slow to respond. For the past two years, a new implementation of Proteopedia has been being built. Soon, it will replace this 18-year old system. All existing content will be moved to the new system at a date that will be announced here.

At right is a morph[1][2] from a Cullin-RING complex to the same complex after NEDD8ylation (covalent addition of the NEDD8 ubiquitin-like chain to LysXXX of Cullin). NEDD8 binds and rotates the C-terminal domain of cullin, releasing the folded RING domain from its binding site. RING remains attached to Cullin by a coil at the RING X-terminus which is embedded in Cullin.
