1993 B. S. in Biochemistry, University of Minnesota, St. Paul, MN 1993 Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY 1993 - 1998 Postdoctoral Research Associate, Institute of Molecular Biology, Univ. of Oregon, Eugene, OR 1998 - 2004 Assistant Professor of Biochemistry, New College of Florida, Sarasota, FL 2004 - present Associate Professor of Biochemistry, New College of Florida, Sarasota, FL

Research interests: I am studying eukaryotic RNA helicases using molecular biology techniques. My long-term interests include understanding how RNA-binding proteins and RNA helicases regulate gene expression. I am also studying the kinetic properties of C. elegans malate dehydrogenase. I am continuing to develop and teach curricula for undergraduate chemistry and biology students that include student participation and collaborative learning.
