Template:STRUCTURE 4khz

Crystal structure of the maltose-binding protein/maltose transporter complex in an pre-translocation conformation bound to maltoheptaose

Function

[MALE_ECOLI] Involved in the high-affinity maltose membrane transport system MalEFGK. Initial receptor for the active transport of and chemotaxis toward maltooligosaccharides. [MALF_ECOLI] Part of the binding-protein-dependent transport system for maltose; probably responsible for the translocation of the substrate across the membrane.

About this Structure

4khz is a 5 chain structure with sequence from Escherichia coli dh1 and Escherichia coli k-12. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA.
