[IMB5_YEAST] Required for nuclear protein import and mediates docking of import substrate to distinct nucleoporins. Serves a receptor for nuclear localization signals. Mediates the nuclear import of TATA-binding protein (TBP) and of histones H2A and H2B.^{[1] [2]}
