VCX1 Calcium/Proton Exchanger

Function

[VCX1_YEAST] Has a role in promoting intracellular calcium ion sequestration via the exchange of calcium ions for hydrogen ions across the vacuolar membrane. Involved also in manganese ion homeostasis via its uptake into the vacuole.[1] [2]

About this Structure

4k1c is a 2 chain structure with sequence from Saccharomyces cerevisiae s288c. Full crystallographic information is available from OCA.
