Plasticity of the quinone-binding site of the complex II homolog quinol:fumarate reductase

Template:ABSTRACT PUBMED 23836905

Function

[FRDD_ECOLI] Seems to be involved in the anchoring of the catalytic components of the fumarate reductase complex to the cytoplasmic membrane.[HAMAP-Rule:MF_00709] [FRDA_ECOLI] Two distinct, membrane-bound, FAD-containing enzymes are responsible for the catalysis of fumarate and succinate interconversion; the fumarate reductase is used in anaerobic growth, and the succinate dehydrogenase is used in aerobic growth. [C9QU46_ECOD1] Seems to be involved in the anchoring of the catalytic components of the fumarate reductase complex to the cytoplasmic membrane (By similarity).[HAMAP-Rule:MF_00708]

About this Structure
