DNA methyltransferase (DNMT) catalyzes the transfer of methyl group to DNA. DNMT uses S-adenosyl methionine (SAM) as the methyl donor. The SAM analog S-adenosyl homocysteine (SAH) is a powerful inhibitor of DNMT.[1]
