Function
[LYSC_CHICK] Lysozymes have primarily a bacteriolytic function; those in tissues and body fluids are associated with the monocyte-macrophage system and enhance the activity of immunoagents. Has bacteriolytic activity against M.luteus.[1]

The first X-ray structures of adducts formed between a RuII(N-heterocyclic carbene)(eta6-p-cymene) compound and a protein are reported. Coordination to the protein induced the cleavage of the cymene ligand and EPR spectroscopy demonstrated the oxidation of the Ru centre.
