[GALRD_OCEIH] Catalyzes the regioselective dehydration of galactarate into 2-keto-D-threo-4,5-dihydroxyadipate ((2S,3R)-dihydroxy-5-oxohexanedioate). Is not active on other acid sugars.[1]
