TKT_STRPN Necessary for high-efficiency recombination chromosomal DNA during genetic transformation.[1] Catalyzes the transfer of a two-carbon ketol group from a ketose donor to an aldose acceptor, via a covalent intermediate with the cofactor thiamine pyrophosphate.
