Kay,
Please don't create content on talk pages. Each page on Proteopedia has an article page and a talk/discussion page where users can have discussions about the page itself. You've edited the talk page for the Main Page of Proteopedia. This is not the place to practice edits or to do your project. Please either use a Sandbox or a userpage. See http://proteopedia.org/wiki/index.php/Help:Editing#Use_the_Sandbox_for_practice_editing

Provide an overview of the quaternary structure of Salmonella typhimurium Glutamine Synthetase. Your explanation ought to include stoichiometry, how the monomers are joined to from the quaternary structure, a clever way to show the symmetry, an indication of the active site location.
1. Too many lines for the text
2. Use greek letters not roman letters where appropriate
3. Use superscripts and subscripts where appropriate
4. Use metal ion and then use the abbreviation after it is defined
5. Consider reworking the text under stoichiometry—it sounds a little awkward.
6. Under stoichiometry: this referred to the stoichiometry of the protein subunits, not to the stoichiometry of the enzyme catalyzed reaction. The summary is correct, but not appropriate for this section. Delete this section in your final submission.
7. I guess it is alright to call the quaternary structure a polymerization,-- but it is redundant and it also suggests that you will discuss how the quaternary structure assembles.
8. Instead of polypeptide monomers use protomer or subunit.
9. The structure is not separated into 2 identical hexameric rings.
10. What does it mean that each monomer consists of a C and N terminus, exposed to hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions? Please clarify.
11. Also do these interactions contribute to quaternary structure—that is C-terminus of one subunit interacts with the a neighboring subunit?
12. Is the active site completely contained in subunit or actually shared between subunits?
13. The MPD is not important.
14. I like the symmetry section. I like how you describe symmetry and it ought to be kept in the final version. However, you ought to include the more formal types of symmetry in your descriptions of symmetry. I can help you with this.
15. Although you have constructed structure applets, it is not clear where in the text these are to be located. Also there ought to be applets associated with some of your describe in QSP.
Summary: You need to rework your submission. The language you use to describe quaternary structure is not precise. The applets are not coordinated with the text as requested by me. We ought to schedule a time to meet.
