I am a Pharmacology major in my third undergraduate year at Stony Brook University. During the Spring 2009 semester, I have become involved in the U-SMART (Undergraduate Students Modeling a Research Topic) initiative by taking BIO 487: Research in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology, under the direction of Dr. Gisselle Medina and Dr. Marvin O'Neal. The goal of this research is to study a particular protein and produce a relevant 3-D physical model that demonstrates some important aspects of its function.
