Elastase
From Proteopedia
Elastase
Elastase (ELA) is a chymotrypsin-like protease which breaks down proteins. The ELAs are numbered according to their genes. ELA2 (or PMN-ELA) is secreted by neutrophils during inflammation. Matrix Metalloproteinase-12 (MMP12) is macrophage ELA.
