Elastase
From Proteopedia
Elastase (ELA) is a chymotrypsin-like protease which breaks down proteins. The ELAs are numbered according to their genes. ELA2 (or PMN-ELA) is secreted by neutrophils during inflammation. The images at the left and at the right correspond to one representative Elastase structure, i.e. human Matrix Metalloproteinase-12 (MMP12), which is macrophage ELA (3ba0).
