ANKRD2

Human AKRD2 (ankyrin repeat domain 2) encodes a 37 kDa protein, found in slow muscle fibers. It belongs to the conserved muscle ankyrin repeat protein (MARP) family. It forms a link between the sarcomere and nucleus in skeletal muscle and is involved in striated muscle hypertrophy. AnkrD2 interacts with telethonin and the transcription factors YB-1, PML and p53.[1]
