We apologize for Proteopedia being slow to respond. For the past two years, a new implementation of Proteopedia has been being built. Soon, it will replace this 18-year old system. All existing content will be moved to the new system at a date that will be announced here.

3D Structure of Calmodulin and Calmodulin binding domain of Olfactory cyclic nucleotide-gated ion channel complex

Function

[CNGA2_RAT] Odorant signal transduction is probably mediated by a G-protein coupled cascade using cAMP as second messenger. The olfactory channel can be shown to be activated by cyclic nucleotides which leads to a depolarization of olfactory sensory neurons.

About this Structure

2m0j is a 2 chain structure with sequence from Homo sapiens and Rattus norvegicus. Full experimental information is available from OCA.
