Bisphosphoglycerate mutase (BPGM) catalyzes the synthesis of 2,3-bisphosphoglycerate (2,3-BGP) from 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate (1,3-BGP). BPGM is found in erythrocytes and placental cells.
