הפרולקטין, הידוע גם בשם luteotropin , הוא חלבון אשר ידוע בעיקר ביכולתו לגרום לנקבות ממחלקת היונקים ליצור חלב. אולם יש לו השפעה על מספר גדול של פונקציות . הפרולקטין מופרש מבלוטת יותרת המוח כתגובה לאכילה, הזדווגות, טיפול באסטרוגן , ביוץ והנקה . הפרולקטין מעורב גם במטבוליזם, ויסות מערכת החיסונית והתפתחות הלבלב.
