Function
Survivin or apoptosis inhibitor 4 (IAP4) plays a dual role. It inhibits caspase activation and thus it inhibits apoptosis and promotes cell proliferation.
Disease
IAP4 is found in human cancer cells and can serve as a cancer marker and as a target for chemotherapy.
