Ribosomal protein S1
From Proteopedia
Ribosomal protein S1 (RPS1) is one of the 22 proteins which belong to the small subunit of the bacterial ribosome. It participates in translation initiation of many mRNAs and plays a role in translation elongation. It consists of 6 repeats of 70-residue domains able to bind single-stranded nucleic acids named OB folds.
