DGTP controls spontaneous mutagenesis caused by exogenous oxygen radicals. The E. coli DGTP is called MutT. The human DGTP is called MTH1.[1] Relevance The 8-oxo-dGTP (oxoG) is a potentially mutagenic substrate when incorporated into DNA.
