[CRP_MYCTO] Global transcriptional regulator that complexes with cAMP and binds to specific DNA promoter sites, causing DNA-bending, to regulate transcription. cAMP improves binding to specific DNA sequences, probably by altering protein conformation. Activates expression of whiB1.^[1]
