N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) phosphotransferase is a cis-Golgi-localized enzyme that recognizes the specific protein sequence in newly synthesized lysosomal enzymes and transfers phosphorylated GlcNAc group to carbon 6 of one or more mannose residues.
