Ftsz assembles into a ring at the site of the septum in bacterial cell division. Ftsz stands for Filamenting Temperature-Sensitive mutant Z. Ftsz can bind GTP and hydrolyze it to GDP[1]. Ftsq us another septal protein. It is biopic membrane protein which is recruited in cell division site[2].
