Leucosporidium sp.(Arctic yeast)

Leucosporidium is a genus of fungi in the subdivision Pucciniomycotina. These species have been isolated predominantly from cold environments and are regarded as psychrotolerant

Structural highlights

The beta-roll motif in this protein sets up a line of amino acids capable of hydrogen-bonding water molecules. The distance between these amino acids in the is spaced in such a way that these hydrogen bonds disrupt the formation of ice.
