I completed my PhD in 1985. As part of my PhD work I broke the myth that it is impossible to build a double helical structure for 2'-5' DNA/RNA. I built many right handed, left handed, 2'5'-3'5 hybrid models etc. I served as an Associate professor at Madurai Kamaraj University, which is the best biotech/biology university in India. Served as a visiting scientist under the Nobel Laureate Dr. Gobind Khorana, the discoverer of genetic code. Served as a faculty of Harvard Medical School, Brigham Women’s Hospital, Children Hospital, and Dana Farber Cancer Institute, all in Boston, MA. Carried out extensive structure and functional studies on GPCR family of proteins covering visual (MIT, Boston), immune (BWH, Children, DFCI, Boston) receptor molecules. Cloned 6200 genes of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in 6 weeks time using robots. Developed robotic high throughput technologies genome-wide gene cloning microbial and viral pathogens, expression of several hundreds of genes, purification of several hundred proteins, protein microchip creation, protein microchip screening, vaccine development using reverse vaccinology, all the above for the first time in the world. Engineered several therapeutic proteins for treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases as well as adjuvants of vaccines. An expert in molecular biology, immunology, cancer biology, robotic high throughput technology, protein chip, high throughput screening, high throughput immune assays, protein engineering/expression/manufacturing, monoclonal antibody development/production/purification, hands on experience with several special equipments like robots, antibody screening and protein antibody real time kinetics studies by several surface plasmon resonance equipments like BiaCore (up to A-100), Akubio, Fortebio and Proteon, FACS instruments etc.
