I am a professor of biology at Southeast Missouri State University, where I teach genetics at several levels, as well as an introductory process of science course intended mainly for biology majors. I have three degrees from the University of Arizona (B.S. biology, 1977, M.S. genetics 1978, PhD genetics 1983).

My current research is in genomics of basidiomycete fungi. I am particularly interested in secreted proteases and autolysis in fungi. My laboratory maintains the Coprinopsis cinerea genome browser (http://genome.semo.edu).
