Chris has been a faculty member at liberal arts colleges since 1991. His bachelors degree is in biochemistry and his doctorate is in Biological Chemistry. He began his career at Pomona College following his post-doctoral work at the University of Michigan. He has served on the Education and Professional Development Committee of ASBMB where he helped found the undergraduate poster session at the national meeting and the educational sections for members of the society. He was selected as a member of the Faculty for the 21st Century program under Project Kaleidescope in 1994 and has served as a councilor for the Council on Undergraduate Research. He has been a member of task forces at both Pomona and Albion that guided the design and construction of science facilities which support new pedagogical approaches and undergraduate research. In 2001 he moved to Albion College to help implement a new curriculum and initiate a student-faculty collaborative research program in biochemistry. His research has focused on proteomics and RNA structure and catalysis.
