We apologize for Proteopedia being slow to respond. For the past two years, a new implementation of Proteopedia has been being built. Soon, it will replace this 18-year old system. All existing content will be moved to the new system at a date that will be announced here.

I am currently a Junior at Stony Brook University pursuing a double major in Biology and Public Health. This page was made in PREPARE, a course which stands for Protein Explorations in Preparation for Authentic Research Experiences. We were taught and advised by the course directors Dr. Giselle Medina, as well as Dr. Marvin O'Neal. Through the course we created a 3-D physical model of the protein Glucosamine 6-Phosphate Synthase in its relation to the pathology of Candida Albicans. This was done through the mentorship of Dr. James Konopka and Dr. Angelo Gunaskera who are conducting this research in Stony Brook University.
