TRAM_RHIRD Negatively regulates conjugation and the expression of tra genes by antagonizing TraR/AAI-dependent activation. TraM may either bind or modify TraR or AAI making them unavailable. Alternatively, TraM may bind tra promoters preventing TraR activation.
