Death-associated protein (DAP) or death domain-associated protein is associated with multiple cellular functions.
- DAP3 is known as mitochondrial small subunit ribosomal protein S29. Over-expression of DAP3 induces apoptosis in several cell lines.[1]
- DAP6 or Daxx interacts with apoptosis antigen. It has both pro- and anti-apoptosis functions.[2]
- DAP5 is an inhibitor of translational initiation in differentiation and apoptosis. For more details on DAP5 see Death Associated Protein 5.
