Death-associated protein

Death-associated protein (DAP) or death domain-associated protein is associated with multiple cellular functions.

• DAP3 is known as mitochondrial small subunit ribosomal protein S29. Over-expression of DAP3 induces apoptosis in several cell lines.^[1]
• DAP6 or Daxx interacts with apoptosis antigen. It has both pro- and anti-apoptosis functions.^[2]
• DAP5 is an inhibitor of translational initiation in differentiation and apoptosis. For more details on DAP5 see Death Associated Protein 5.
